WELCOME TO THE FULL DAY KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2nd will be the beginning of the FDK program at Holy Redeemer School.

All Senior Kindergarten students will begin school on this day and Junior Kindergarten students will have their orientation visits the first two days (Letters have already been sent to JK parents. They were included either with your "Welcome to Kindergarten" bag given to you at
the "Welcome" night on May 29 or have been mailed to you 3 weeks ago. The letter informed you of the time and date of your Orientation Visit) .  Everybody should be settled into their new classroom families by the end of the week.

There will be three JK-SK blended groups. Each group will include a full time Early Childhood Educator (ECE), a French teacher, and English teacher. Two of the groups will also include an Educational Assistant.
PREPARATION for SEPT.:
Students will require 2 small, healthy snacks and a healthy lunch.

Please send the following items to school on the first day:
- inside school shoes (velcro or slip-on)
- extra set of clothes in a large ziploc bag

(include: pants, socks, shirt, underwear)

- Activity fee: $30- cheque made out to "Holy Redeemer School"

- There will be a "Quiet Time" scheduled into the daily program so that everybody will have an opportunity to rejuvenate their energy levels.  To facilitate this calming time, each child will require a mat to rest comfortably on the floor of the classroom.

We are suggesting a yoga mat, or something similar, along with a fitted crib sheet - labeled with your child's name . The crib sheet will reduce germs as it will be sent home regularly for washing, so you may want to have a spare sheet to ensure the mat is always covered. (Walmart - one for $10 or two for $15)  We also suggest a comfy blanket to help your child relax after a stimulating morning. [This "Quiet" time is NOT meant for SLEEPING.]
