Purple, Red and Green Groups will all be doing a similar Christmas craft in a couple of weeks.
This craft will require a 250ml milk carton for each student. Please send one (or more) to school as soon as possible!
(Blue Group will be doing something different.)
We will be sending home an RSVP note next week asking if you are able to volunteer to help out with our Christmas Craft on Friday, December 11th at 10 am. Please look for this note in your child's mailbag in order to fill it out and return it to school as soon as possible. We also require a few electric mixers, which are required to make the icing for our crafts.
*ALLERGY ALERT!! Although we tell the children that this craft is only a DECORATION, the candy and icing are difficult to resist. If this presents a medical concern for your child, please notify the teacher and provide your own selection of safe icing and treats.
*Please send in the small 250 ml milk carton well before the event in order to participate in the craft!

YOUR kind SUPPORT is REQUESTED.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are requesting that all parents please talk to their child about appropriate toileting behaviours.
We have had an ongoing issue with children forgetting to flush the toilet. This has continued to happen despite numerous lessons. Please assist us by reinforcing this habit at home.
[*At least half dozen teachers are flushing toilets all day long!! (Yikes!)]
We also have a big problem with urine all over the washrooms - toilet seat, floor and even walls!
[*Our poor custodian is being called down to clean the washrooms several times a day!]
We would really appreciate your support in this regard.
Thank you.

NO TOYS at school REMINDER.
Dear Parents,
We have noticed a sudden increase in toys and stuffed animals coming to school. Also, we are seeing Pokeman cards appearing both in the classroom and outside at recess. These items usually become the source of conflict and/or upset because they get damaged, lost or "borrowed" by others.
Please support our efforts by reinforcing the "No toys at school" rule and checking your child's backpack to ensure these items remain at home.
Thank you!

PROGRESS REPORTS (?)
Kindergarten students do NOT receive a "Progress Report" on November 5th when Grades 1 to 6 students will be receiving theirs. However, during our interview evening on November 12th we will let you know how your child is adjusting to school life and how Senior K students are progressing with the academic aspects as well.
At this point in the year, we expect most SK students to minimally be able to print their name, know at least half their letters and some sounds, and count to 20 or beyond. (Many students are able to do more than this.) However, if your child is struggling in any area, please work on these at home to encourage and support their efforts.
Interview night is scheduled for Thursday, November 12. You can book your own interview online, time slots between 3 to 5 pm or 6 to 8 pm will be available for those who want to meet with their child's teacher.
**The online link and instructions are being sent home in a blue letter.**
